Question Alignment? Trimming?

Well i got my 2.5" AS leveling kit, wheels, and 305/65/18 BFG's put on today (pics coming soon). The guy at the tire shop told me that he took it for a test drive afterwards and that there is a shake when it gets up to about 50-55mph. He told me the alignment is perfect and the reason for the shake is because my tires are wide (12.50), and that this is normal with wide tires. The shop did a good job, they were very nice, and i personally think my truck looks great. But is what he's saying about the truck and steering wheel shaking a bit true? Is it normal for wider tires to cause a shake at higher speeds, or is it possible the alignment was not done as good as it should of been? I figured i'd ask you guys what you think, as a lot of you have around the same size tires give or take, along with lots of knowledge.

Also, i need to do some very minor trimming on my front bumpers lower valance. I was told i could use a sawzall (which i do not have), or just spray it with WD-40 and use a good utility knife. My question is, has anyone on here done this with a utility knife?

Thanks in advance guys.

The plastic is pretty easy to cut. I trimmed mine with my pocket knife.
The vibration is caused by one or more of the tires not being balanced properly or a defect in a tire (s).

I guess i need to call the tire shop and ask them to rebalance the tires, or maybe just try another shop i dont know. The thing is the guy told me all the tires balanced very well, but who knows. Its hard to trust anyone now-a-days. If in fact a tire has a defect, what should i look for? I dont visually see anything out of the ordinary with them.

Thanks wandell.

The kind of defect like I'm talking about would not be visable.
If they balanced out, you could have a worn suspension or steering component causing the vibration.

Well i'm going to go back to the tire shop tomorrow morning and ask them if they can try to correct this issue. If they wont do anything and just tell me its normal, i suppose i will have to try and find another shop. And if that fails, well i guess i'll need to have the suspension and steering components checked out. The truck rode perfect before these tires were put on, so its hard to believe it could be the suspension or steering components, but i suppose there is only one way to find out, by doing the above mentioned.

Thanks wandell.

Oh and by the way, yeah your right the plastic was very very easy to cut. I went out in my driveway with a kitchen knife and it cut through like butter.
