Cooper Zeon LTZ? You decide...
Cooper Zeon LTZ? You decide...
Ok guys. I've narrowed my tire search down to the following 2. I'd like to get the Nitto TG 275/60/20, but I just flat can't see spending the extra $250 on 'em considering I've got 150K miles on the truck.
Anywho, here are the 2, and I honestly can't decide!
Cooper Zeon LTZ 275/60/20 (delivered and installed for $815.22)
Mastercraft Courser CT 275/60/20 (delivered and installed for $808)
As you can see, the price difference is minimal. I've searched and searched, and I can't find hardly anybody who says anything negative about either. I'm just concerned the Zeon might be a softer compound and not wear as long.
Here's a link to each tire:
Cooper Zeon LTZ
Mastercraft Courser CT
FWIW, I've seen the Courser in person, and the picture absolutely does NOT do it justice. It's a nice, beefy looking tire.

You know...I'm just not completely sold on the Zeon LTZs for some reason. I don't know what it is. To me, they look like more of a cross between a street tread and an all terrain tread whereas the Courser CT looks more like a cross between an all terrain tread and a mud tread. Maybe the pics I've seen of the LTZ's just don't do them justice, and they're more aggressive than represented in the pics???
Let's hear from some of you Zeon owners...am I wrong?

i dont like cooper tires. they have such a soft compound that they wear like crap and ride like crap after a while. they are not really meant for a full size truck even though they make the size tires for them.
However, Cooper makes the Mastercraft Coursers, and speaking from experience, they DO last a long time! A few years back, I ran a set of Courser AT on an old truck of mine, and I put well over 60K miles on them. I sold the truck to one of my friends' dad, and a couple of years later, he still had the same tires on them.

LOL...you're so careful not to give an opinion wandell.
However, I sense you're not enthusiastic about either tire.

You've GOT to be kidding me!! What are the chances you'd post a pic of the LTZ on the EXACT same style rim I'm running? (MB Motoring Smooth) Only difference is mine are 20s.
Thank you green machine! I think you just made up my mind for me. Those look TIGHT man!
