brake line size Help !!!!

brake line size Help !!!!

1998 windstar my parents brought it over for rear brakes, the drums where seazed on finally got them off and on rear cylinder let go, go to take off the line snaps go to the next junction that line snaps, they are all rusty and need to be replaced what size line do they use? thanks for any help

I don’t know what size they are but www.rockauto.com has several different brands and they have all the part numbers. It might be easier to find at a local store with a part number.

G.B, usually the steel lines are 3/16", maybe for GM crap only, Ford might be as well. I'd go to a parts place, Walker Road auto or probably safest bet Rose City on Monday now. Otherwise, you have to bend and flare the ends etc. Alot of work for brakes that never actually get used, maybe 30% of the braking when fully working. My aunt's 98 was the same, wheel cylinders always go because they see little use. Take care though bud, hope all is well.

ive had ford,gm and dodge and the hard lines have all been 3/16

thanks guys the lines where 3/16 had to replace all the lines so rotted when i moved one the other broke, but gave me a reason to buy a flaring tool and a tubing bender....lol
