Best treadwear?

I'm looking to replace the stockers on my F150 with a mild 285/70/17 AT tire, but I would like something with a really good treadlife. 800 dollars a year on new tires doesn't sound great and I drive 40000 miles or more a year, usually. One of my original choices were the Toyo Open Country AT or the Michelin LTX AT2, but I've heard the new LTXs are as good as the old ones and the open country's aren't lasting that long. I don't really need something as aggressive as the BFG AT, but if it has the best treadlife it might be worth it? Any other suggestions?

The Toyo Open Country ATs are just as aggressive as the BFG A/T KOs. I'd go with the BFG s though if you're concerned about tread life. My Pop's has got 55,000 miles out of a set on his F250. The Toyo Open Country ATs are worth 40,000 miles at most.

I've only had them for a little bit, but I know others have gotten good treadlife out of the Nitto Terra Grapplers as well. Plus they handle great on and off road.

You can easily get 60,000 miles out of the BFG AT KO's.

Yokahama Geolanders

I have been running a set of Yokohama Geolander h/t's for over a year now! I have driven the truck 46,000 miles since I put them on the truck. I did my suspension at the same time (all new suspension and replaced both control arms). I still have %50 of my tread life! Until recently they stayed at 35psi. This month I started running 40psi and I actually noted an increase in gas mileage at just a little over 1 mile to the gallon. I can't say how pleased I am with this tire. They cost me about $650 with road hazard insurance from discount tire here in Texas. I will definately buy them again! Other tires I have run are:
BF Goodrich TA (ok tire, quite but had to replace all 4 at 45,000 miles)
Continental Contitrac POS tire. DO NOT BUY THIS TIRE EVER. I went through 2 sets in 70,000 miles! Ughhhhhhhhhh

Firestone Destination AT's here. No complaints. They handle well, handle the snow and wet roads great, and they're super quiet. I've had them for 20,000 km's now and the tread wear seems great.

I just got back from getting a rebalance done. This was done at a place that knows how to do a proper balance, and what a difference!

I can't help you much on the treadwear, but if you read this comparison of a bunch of AT tires, the Destinations are very good on the treadwear:

I have been running 33" Pro Comp AT's. They come with a 50,000 tread ware warranty. I have had them on since April 2006; about 55,000 mi and still going. I will need to get new ones before the winter. I think I am going to try and squeeze into some 35's.
