Tire Size Issue

I was about to buy Nitto Terra Grapplers from Discount Tire and they said the biggest I could go without the tread crowning and wearing in the center is a 285/70/17. I was planning on buying either 295/70/17 or 305/70/17. I have a 2005 4x4 screw w/a 3" body lift. Will I not get enough life out of 295's or 305's with OEM wheels? I don't want to spend $700 or $800 on tires to have them wear incorrectly.

Any time you mount a tire on a narrower than recommended wheel it can cause the center portion of the tread to wear slightly faster than normal. Most tire manufacturers do recommend at least a 8 inch wide wheel for 295 to 315mm wide tires. However, several members here and FTW have run 315mm wide tires on the oem 7.5 inch wide wheels with no problems.

Wheel Size Issue

Will these wheels work with the 295/70/17 Nitto Terra Grapplers (which I received yesterday) and my '05 4x4 screw w/3" body lift? I'm a little nervous about using the OE wheels.
