Brake Line Size?

Hello,

I have a 98 F-150 2wd four six.

I am needing to replace the steel brake line from front to back. I know I can use my old fittings, but, need to know the size line to order. Does anyone know that right off? I am going to order a roll from jcwhitney.

Also I ordered this flaring kit http://www.sears.com/shc/s/p_10153_1...52000&sLevel=0

This kit will do any flaring I need for the job right?

Thanks for your help in advance!

its 3/16 you can buy preflared lines at autozone or advanced. you dont even need that sears kit. dont use the old fittings. all u need is the tubing bender.

Thanks for your help guys. Unfortunately, I am not in an area with an autozone or an advance. I have to order everything online. They only offer 1 kit to replace lines on my truck, and, it is over 150$.

Jcwhitney has a great deal on replacement lines and sell them in a roll of 25'. So, I will go that route.

Thanks again.

You can reuse the old fittings, if, they are not rusted. Something to think about when ordering your lines.

what is the size of the fittings that screw in for the lines? I need some lines for my 97 F150 but they wanted to know size of the line and size of the thread for the fitting when I went to the part store.

Then I will go ahead and get a rough guestimate for the length I need both lines on the rear end are rusted bad.
