2004 brakes

Hi Guy's new member here need some info if you please.
My son has a 2004 F150 XLT the front brakes dust like crazy worse than crazy clean one day back to dirty the next. So i am lookig to get new rotors and pads.
Back ones seem fine for some reason nowhere near as bad as the front.
so at this time i am just looking to replace the front pads and rotors. So what are the best pads and rotors i can get without breaking the bank account i am guessing about 60 to 80 for a set of pads and between 100 to 200 ea.for a nice set of slotted rotors what do all you truck guys say to use .
thanks for any and all answers

Do a search on Car Quest Blues. I have them on my truck and no dust. Not sure the slotted rotors are worth it.

Carquest Blues, or the Akebono's....There is also a new one we got literature on at the shop about a new carbon/metallic one. I don't remember the name, but I'll be getting them next week with some slotted rotors for my 08. The brake dust is RIDICULOUS for lack of a word that won't earn me ****** in its place...

I just updated my rotors and pads. I went with the slotted and I do believe they will make quite the difference. I bought my pads and rotors for $237 shipped. The rotors came will the bearings, studs, etc installed. I am impressed so far! If you are intrested check out rotor pros.

With that price range the Stoptech slotted rotors and centric posi quiet pads would be perfect for your son!

I am running this setup on my truck and I will never run stock brakes again.

Car Quest Blue. I don't think I'd bother with slotted rotors.

Akebono

Start with the Akebono ProACT Ceramic Pads from TireRack. $72 each. Brake dust and noise improved dramatically. Also great if you load the bed or tow a lot as they dissipate heat well for reduced fade.

I can't say about rotors, but Tire Rack also sells some slotted rotors for under $100 each. I would go slotted if I had to replace the rotors, but if you've got life left in your rotors, keep them. The dust comes from the pads. You'll feel the difference in brake performance with just a pad swap-out.

My prices are better than tirerack, all around. The centric posi quiets are a much better pad than the akebonos in my opinion, and I can also get the slotted rotos cheaper than tirerack has them for.

Let me know if anyone has questions about their order.

I put Wagner Thermo Quiets on mine and have 60,000 miles on them. They have been great. As others have said, unless the rotors are worn badly or warped, just change the pads. You need to be aware that if you have a 4x2, the front bearings are built into the hubs.

Depends on if you are 2wd or 4wd, do you want fronts and rears?

You can find all the Stoptech slotted/drilled rotors here

Let me know if you have any questions

I'm 2wd and would like fronts and rears, is it as easy as just bolting on the new rotors? Same calipers and everything? simple as that ?
