You might want to suggest he lower the tire pressure. Running too much air in a wide tire on a narrow wheel is gonna make the center of the tire's tread wear faster. I'd suggest 35 to 40 psi for daily driving.

Because, to some of us, it looks better to have the lift.

1st part, I'll raise the BS flag, sorry bud. It won't roll over any easier just because its on those narrow rims. It'll be fine. I run 13.50" wide TSL's on my Samurai on an 8" wide rim, I spin donuts all the time, its fine. It'll allow for lower tire PSI and the narrow wheel will help keep the bead. I can even spin donuts in my truck, with no worries about rolling over (unless its dirt and my m/t grip/tuck/and roll)

yes, the newer trucks sit lower, only in the rear, to help even off that super raked stance they came with early on.

And this might be a fine set-up for on road dirving, but I guarentee it'll rub when your off the beaten path, especially at full lock.

I also wouldn't be running the tires 5 psi over suggested tire pressure. Not safe, plus will lead to un-even wear of the middle of the tread. I can promise you that. My 2 cents.

wonder, maybe we could get a pic or two of the CV angles ? The upper ball joints ?

Love the stuffed wheel look BTW, looks beasty.

my point is the center of gravity is alot higher. i shoulda made that more clear in my post. there's a reason rize recommends running a 4.5 backspace, to make a wider track width. just because the tires fits the rim doesnt make it proper. either way i'd never do it, but to each his own i guess.

I still have to agree with MT. The reason being, the fact the truck is 8"s lower will help keep it from rolling over far more than a increased track width. i also believe rize recommends a 4.5 backsacing to prevent the tires from rubbing the control arms.

I am having a tough time believing this setup. There has to be a lot of rubbing when he tries to turn.

I gotcha....

but I still don't think it would be that big of a worry. ALthough I sure do like my wide *** stance on the 4.75" BS wheels

Rize recommends 4.5" on 17" wheels for clearance and "anything" for 18" and taller rims. I'm running 5.75" of backspacing and the wheels are tucked in pretty good. I shouldn't, but I've gotten on it decently around corners without problems. Now if I was at a bad angle offroad a wider stance might make me feel better, but I'm not too worried about it.

ok... so I know I am posting on a thread that is almost a year old, but I really would like to see the CV axle and the upper control arm. Do you think you could post a couple photos of that? Thanks! I really do the look of that, it looks pretty beefy

as for whoever said its unbalanced at a high height I am running stock wheels/tires on 8"'s of lift and I've taken on ramps/off ramps and there hasn't once a feeling that the truck is unstable. I plan to put on 35's as soon as I find a dirt cheap set but for now this is what I am using for the winter...yeah it looks gay but it makes up for the summer
