Brake Problem!

I am currently having an issue with my brakes that have left me a little stumped as far as how to diagnose and where to start reapir. I am experiencing vibration upon stopping, It can be felt in the steering wheel and the brake pedal. No pulling or grinding is ocurring. Once the discs are heated up the problem is more pronounced. About a year and half ago I replaced the front disc w\ hub assembly and put all new pads on. Since then I don't think there is more than 7,000 miles on those parts. My first reaction was that maybe it was the rear discs, but I don't seem to be getting any hopping when braking. I was wondering if it could possible be a warped rotor or the slide pins in the callipers need greaseing. If it is a warped rotor how can you tell?

Any information would be a great deal of help, I want to tackle this problem during this long weekend.

Thanks,

geerusso

Sounds like your rotors seem to warped again. Vibration in the steering wheel is due to the rotors being warped in the front and the vibration in the brake pedal is due to the rotors being warped in the rear. I’ve found that the more you heat the brakes up the more pronounced the vibration will be. You could put a dial indicator on the rotor to see how warped it really is but if you feel it I would just replace them. And when you replace them it would be a good idea to grease all the slide pins. Also make sure to tighten the lug nuts in the proper sequence and torque.

You wont have a pull or grind with a warped rotor. If they are very bad you will get a brake noise when braking.
