My fx4 actually came with 18's. They are a close fit when it comes to clearing the brakes. My iroks are impossible to balance so 4wheelparts put equal in them to balance. I'm surprised no one at the shops suggested this. Here is some info about it: http://www.imiproducts.com/equal/tire-balancer.aspx

Thanks for the info. I tried something similar called Dyna Beads and they didnt work. Wish I had known about this stuff. They guarantee a balance or your money back. No guarantee like this with the Beads.

Update!! Got a call from Ultra Wheel today. Said they had sold 500 sets of these 17" OEM size wheels to F150 owners and none of them had a balancing problem. I say Bull hockey. And they wouldnt produce any proof of this. This has been a horrible experience and a big drain on the pocket just to make my truck look nice.

Another update. Ultra Wheel is supposed to trade out my 17's for 18's so I can get clearance for weights. Waiting for an RMA #. Will see if they follow thru. If they do I can finally have the look back I wanted for my truck.

Another update. Finally got the RA # but had to pay $118.00 to ship them back to Ultra. They've had them for a week now and still no word on when they will replace them with a set that will fit. I have now spent over $900.00 and still no wheels. I wonder whats next??

Glad to hear 17's worked out for you. The wheels fit fine. It was getting them balanced that was the problem. The calipers are so close to the wheel you cant get any weights there.

Just got off the phone with Ultra and they say they're gonna send me a set of 18's. Sent them proof I couldnt get a balance and that my truck came with 17's OEM. Will be happier when I see a tracking #. Anyway my ordeal may be over soon but I'll still have to buy a set of tires. Thanks to Wandell I know what size to be looking for.

That sucks man, I've got the Ultra Titans in 20" and have had zero problems balancing them. Discount tire rebalances them everytime I have them rotated.

Update. My replacement wheels arrived today so after I find the tires I want I'll have my setup again. Been a 3 mth ordeal and I'm sure glad its over. Love to have the Cooper Zeon LTZ's but Discount Tire don't offer them anymore in 18's. Anyway I want to thank Alon at Modbargains for sticking with me against Ultra to get the right wheels.

Whew...glad that one is finally over (for you at least). I'm still dealing with ultra, but as long as you have your wheels I'm happy.

Thanks for your business and patience with this whole ordeal, I'm sure you'll love the new wheels that actually fit on the truck!

Dont know why they're still giving you a hard time. I sent them proof my truck came with 17's and proof their wheels wouldn't balance. What else do they need? They acted on the phone like it was your problem but you did'nt make the design flaw. Let me know if you want me to call them some more. Will be my pleasure.

all they had to do was move the weights out of the way of the caliper

someone didn't have any idea what they were doing
