Yep!!! Another wheel and tire question

Yep!!! Another wheel and tire question

Hey Ford owners! New guy here! Been searching this forum for over a year now and finally decided on some new wheels and tires. I have a 2004 4x4, XL model. I just ordered some Nitto Grapplers( 295/70/17) should be here in the next couple of days. But the wheels is what I'm having a hard time with. I have 2 wheels picked out........Eagle alloy 137 17x8 which has a BS of 4.95(offset +14) or a set of Ultra's 17x8 (5.5 BS). I want the tires to stick out a little past the finder wells. I'm thinking the Ultra's would stay tucked in with this tire size??? Anyways, just thought some of you wheel and tire buffs could help me out!!

The Eagle's will stick out about and inch farther than the oem wheels and the Ultra's will stick out 1/2 inch farther than the stock wheels.

So if I went with the Ultra's there would be a little tread sticking out? I don't mind a tire sticking out, as long as the tire is a "wide tire". I currently have 17X9 eagle 187's , with Firestone 265/70/17 which,to me, don't look right. I bought the truck used.

The Eagle 187's are 9 inches wide with 5 inches of backspacing, so they stick out 2 inches farther than the oem wheels. So both wheels you are considering will tuck in farther than the Eagle 187's.

These are 17x8 with 5.5 inches BS on my truck with 315's on. Tucked in they protect the sides of your truck and they are closer to the suspension so they ride and handle better.

Looks good PawPaw!!! The Daystar leveling Kit you have, does it install the same as a AS does?

No, this kit requires a spring compresser. I've had it on almost 3 yrs with no problems.

Are the daystar kits easier to install and as reliable? And how do they install?

The new style daystar kit's are made like the autospring ones but are plastic. easier to install than the older kit's.
