help i'm a noob

i have factory 17 7 1/2 rims on my 2000 f150 4x4. can i fit a mudd tire with 285 70 17 8pr on my facotry rims, also what does 8r mean

We have a guy here (Wandell) that can answer more tire questions then anyone I know but - here are a couple websites that will help you answer that for yourself.

Yes you can, thats what i have on my truck.

I have a 98 f150 and i have firestone destination mt 285 70 17 tires and they look great, and you dont "need" to lift it. they clear fine.

I think the tires will fit, and 8pr probably means 8 ply rating.
