Angry What the hell ?!?! :-(

I "thought" I was going to buy my tires and wheels from 4wheel parts.com, because their walk-in store is only 45 minutes from me, and I could get the online sales price, but wouldn't have to pay ship + handle, if I picked them up myself.
Plus, they had the American Racing Thugs, that I wanted, and a great selection of AT tires (which I still hadn't completely decided on).

So, I called them just now, to see about the 'typo' which was reading 17.5" Thugs....

Only to find out that 4wheel parts.com has completely dropped ALL of the American Racing Wheels ! How stupid is this ???

So I started to ask him a tire question, and then I stopped myself to say, "Well in that case, never mind. I want to buy my tires and wheels as set, and so I guess I will have to take my business elsewhere. Have a nice day".

That SUCKED !
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
So, where else can I get my 17" AR Thugs, and a good selection of AT tires ? I prefer online, and maybe with free mounting and balancing, and ship + handle.....
I really like Wheelsnext.com, but most of their tire selection is geared towards low profile street stuff.....
Any suggestions ???
Thanks,
Fish
summitracing.com on the AR thugs For tires you could do them through summit as well, or through discounttiredirect.com they have good prices and free shipping.
I'd call the order line on the web page. Sometimes the guys in the stores don't know the whole scoop. They may have dropped a certain wheel and this guy took it wrong. Also, if you call the order line, tell them you want to pick them up in the store to avoid paying shipping. I ordered mine online and had them shipped to my door and still got free shipping just for asking. And they matched the price from tirepackage.com. It doesn't hurt to ask...
I have heard (and the pages look the same) they are the same company.
Thanks guys....
Hey Deuce, I will check both of the places now, for availability and price.
Hey TN, I checked both 4wheelparts.com, and I called 4wheelparts directly to the Sacramento store. Both confirmed that they have stopped carrying ALL American Racing wheels ! Sounds really dumb to me, but they lost my business, that's for sure.
Peace,
Fish
Thank you very much Hoss....
I just went and checked out there site, and I like how it was set up. Plus, they had both the wheels, and the tires I want. Prices looked comparable, if not a bit cheaper than some of the other online, discount tire and wheel places.....
Thanks again, saved this website in my favorites.
Peace,
Fish
I am looking at almost every AR wheel available right now on 4WP's website. I think the guy you talked to has no idea what he is talking about.
Hey GTRider.....
believe me, I had been looking at all of the AR rims, on the exact website you linked to, for a couple weeks.....
Then called both the 4wheelparts.com number (twice... to make sure American Racing, and ATX were the same company... they were, and they no longer carry either) and the local 4 Wheel Parts store (in Sacramento) and all confirmed... No more AR wheels !
The website your looking at just hasn't been updated. They are probably just trying to get rid of the last of the slow selling AR wheels they have on stock.
If that is in fact the case, that is not a good move on thier part. One more reason not to buy from them.
Ya' know.....
I've never bought anything from them before... I just liked that they had a store within driving distance of me, a good tire selection (and up until now) a pretty good wheel selection......
Oh well.
Tire Rack is one of the, if not THE Best online tire and wheel retailer period. I have bought 4 sets of tires from them and will not hesitate to go back when I need more. They can almost ALWAYS beat everyone elses prices and the guys there are about as knowledgeable as you can get as well as very customer oriented.
