20" or 18" ???????

I have been reading these forums for a while now trying to get ideals of what I should do to my truck. I have the 07 FX4 with the factory 20". I want to put some BFGoodrich T/A KO 285/55 20 on it. But I cant make up my mind weather to downsize to the 18" so I can put a bigger Tire on it 305/65/18. Does anyone have any pics of there trucks with either of these tires on it. I also want to be able to do it with just a 2.5 leveling kit. Thanks

The rim size is not gonna affect how large of a tire you can run. With OEM 17, 18 or 20 inch wheels you can fit a 35x12.50 with a leveling kit. They will rub slightly on the lower control arms at full steering lock however. If you don't think you can live with the minor rubbing, go with a 33x12.50 tire.

Here is a pic of the BFG 285/65/20 on an 05 with the 2.5" AS. Rims are aftermarket 20 x 9" with almost 6" backspace, OEM 20" rims would work also with no rubbing.

Thanks, that is what I needed to see how it looked , I was afraid that there wouldnt be enough tire with the 20" rims, if I went with that size, thats a good looking setup by the way.

What's the Biggest tire?

I was at discount tire the other day, and they told me the biggest tire I could put on my 07 FX4 Screw was a 286/65/18, (have the factory 20" but thinking about going with 18" to get a bigger tire) anyways I am going to get a 2.5" Level and I wanted to know if I could put the 305/65 18 with out them rubbing. Got any pics. Thanks

I have to think about the trade, its a lot of thinking trying to decide what tire and wheel set up I want to go with, my wife gets pissed at me because I am always going to the truck store or the tire store looking at stuff. She told me to keep the wheels and tires that I have, I told her that we wont be able to drive out on the beach with these stock tires, that changed her mind real quick, But yeah I am real indecisive about what combo I am going to go with.
