A 325mm wide tire is too wide for the oem 7.5 inch wide wheels.

I have a 2004 FX4 with 325/60 18 Nitto Terra Grapplers with a 2.5 inch leveling kit. I did install 1/4 inch spacers in the front because of an extremely slight rub at full lock. Honestly, I could have done without the spacers but I'm picky about stuff like that. The set up works as good as it looks though!

Just curious Dbummer13, how are they wearing so far? How many miles do you have on them?

Well I bought them off of a buddy that had them on an '05 STX 2-wheel drive with a 2 inch leveling kit. He has been running them since new and had around 5,000 miles on them. He sold the truck but put his factory set-up back on before selling it. I installed the tires on my factory wheels and have been running them for about a 1,000 miles so far. They are very evenly worn to this point and are still basically new. Not much road noise at all either! In my opinion, these are one of the best AT tires out right now!

Ok, dbummer13. Help me with this please. I currently have a 2005 FX4 Flareside with a leveling kit. I am running 305/60/R18 BF Goodrich AT. These tires are a 10Ply tire. The 325/60/R18 are an 8 Ply. Did you notice a power loss with the Nittos?? Whats your opinion, do you think I wll lose alot of power??? I just ordered a new truck and not sure which size to go with. My friend has 35/12.50/18 Nitto Mud Grappler and he got killed on power and fuel mileage. I still get good mileage with the 305's. I just got 17 on a trip from WV to NC. What do you think??

The problem with narrow rims and wide tires is that the tread will wear primarily in the middle of the tire. The narrow rims pull the shoulder tread down towards the rim. You get less of a contact patch and the tires will wear unevenly. I had a set of BFG T/A radials on a truck with narrow rims. I ran them for about 10K miles and then upgraded my wheels to wide enough wheel only to find that the new setup was running on the shoulder tread only and not the middle of the tire. Your setup will work but your are not getting the best out of your tire.

nathan08fx4 - This is my experience. I went from a 285/60 18 which was a Daytona street tread tire to my 325/60 18 Terra Grappler. I have not noticed any power loss at all. My mpg's originally were 14.5 to 15 with my street tires. Since installing my Terra Grapplers, I have yet to see anything below 14mpg's. This is all in-town driving, I rarely ever make any trips in my truck. The minimal loss in mpg's is definitely made up in the look of the truck in my opinion!

You need at least a 9" wide rim for a 325 to be a good fit.

Dbummer13- Do you have any pics you can email me of your truck with the 325's? I would like to see how they look in comparison to the 305's.My email is nhornbeck.jfm@citynet.net. My new truck should be here any day, i just got the invoice on it, so I am trying to figure this out soon. Thanks!!

I wish there was a 305/65/18 mud terrain tire.

That would be a 34x12.50-18 tire basically. I believe Toyo and a couple others make 33x12.50-18's.

Cool Air compensation

Has anyone tried lowering the air pressure to see if they can flatten the tread when using the 7.5" oem rims with 325mm tires.....?

Yeah, you have to. However, you can only go so low.

I think 33 is too small and 35 is too big. Only tire I found in the 305/65/18 is the BFG A/T and its way over priced. I can get a 35/12.5/18 M/T for the same price.
