Mickey Thompson Baja Claws VS. Nitto Mud Grapplers
Mickey Thompson Baja Claws VS. Nitto Mud Grapplers
...which one do you think is better? im still confused on which tire to get..(35/12.50/17) on stock rims for now. its a daily driver but im always on road /dirt..which one would be a better choice..thanks in advance.
It sounds like the baja claw would be a better fit for you. It's great in dirt and on the street and should be able to put a lot of miles on them. The grapplers on the other hand are good in the mud, but they won't last you as long as the baja claws. They are also louder. Either one would look great.
baja claws have the traditional mickey thompson soft tread compound though so dont expect to see alot of miles out of them...they will outlast the mud grapplers but not by much. You could get much better mileage out of several other mud terrains on the market including the bfg km2, toyo mt, and the cooper stt.
thanks guys for the info...are the **** Cepek Mud Country any good? im pretty much just lookin for an aggressive tire..that will last long...just like everyone else haha
It sounds like an AT tire would be better suited for your needs... but that wasn't discussed.
The Baja Claw is an all around excellent tire for off-road conditions. It does pretty darn good in the mud (well the 33x13.50-r15 I had on my Bronco II were good anyhow). They are loud enough to let you know you have off-road tires, but they aren't unbearable.
The Mud Grappler is also a great all around off-roader. I have only been in a few trucks with the mud graps, but they were noisey suns of guns, and had terrible tread vibration at slow speeds.
I have Pro Comp mud terrains on my truck right now, and they are a happy medium for me. The on-road manners of them are excellent, with only slight hum at freeway speeds and minor tread vibration at slow speeds. Off road the tires get the job done. Sand, rock, basic trail and even mud are not a problem for them. In sticky clay-like mud they will load up fairly quickly, but spinning them a little bit cleans them out well. Oh, and they are dirt cheap. Just a thought.
