what tire do you suggest?

i have a 2004 FX4 supercab short bed with 18" wheels and i was wandering, i want to upgrade my tires soon. i's like to have them 33"s and a little more wide. i want all terrains that would last the longest but i don't wan bf's or firestone simpley bc they don't look aggresive. what tire do you guys suggest on tread wear, and who make a tire the size i'm wanting in an A/T of course. oh and i'd like them to cost round the price of the terra grapplers. don't wanna go broke. oh and if it helps i'm getting a leveling kit before i get new tires so i have the room.

I just went thru all the same decisions you are trying to make. I went with a 2.5 autospring leveling kit with a 3 inch rear block about 3 months ago. Then finally made a decision on wheels and tires a week ago. I too wanted an agressive a/t 33x 11.5. I decided on Mickey Thompson Baja ATZ part #5374 wich is 275/70/17. and Mickey Thompson classic wheels 17x9. I recieve this package on thursday and could not believe how agressive the tires are! Supposed to be good for 40,000 miles with moderate driving. I know they make a 275/70/18 (33x11.5) or a 305/60/18 (33x 12.5). You will not be disappointed in looks! Ive put only 500 miles on mine so far and they ride great! Also looked into Pro comp xtreme A/t, Just didnt like the sidewalls as much. But it was a hard decision between them both. Absolutely no regrets! These tires are awesome.

I would suggest the Procomp Xtreme A/T's.......great tire and really agressive look.

I have some pics in my gallery when I had them in 33's

procomp xtream at's or the mickeys. i would suggest goodyear silent armors but i dont think they're going to be aggresive enough for you

hey again

thanks for the help sweetwilly but do you think getting them at 11" wide they would still fit my stock rim? and is the rear block kit you got really needed? was the rear lower than the front after the leveling kit?

I installed a 2" AS leveling kit on my 04 and the truck was close to being level. Maybe 1/4" difference from front to back. I have air bags in the back to help level the truck out when I haul something heavy. They help keep the truck from squatting in the back when hauling. That may be part of the reason some guys add blocks or AAL's.
You shouldn't have any problems with an 11" wide tire on stock rims. Some guys run 12.5" on stock rims with no problem. Personally,I haven't pulled the trigger on bigger tires, yet.....

Yes, the 11.5 wide will fit your stock rim, and if you go on Mickey Thomspons web site, they have a spec chart on what size rim each tire can fit on. And i believe yours is 7.5 wide wich is the minimum width for the 275/70/18.
As far as needing the rear block goes, My truck is an 06 xlt , with the 2.5 as. The truck sat exactly dead level after instal. It was just a preference to have the back 1.5" higher. Just a look I was going for.
