Someone with 24's anwer this offset fitment question plz.

I have a 04 2wd supercab xlt. I have stock 265/55/17. I have plans of getting 24 inch wheels and tires. I plan to order them online, but Im not sure of the proper offset of the rim I need. A local shop told me and showed me on the internet that it needs 40-44 offset, but when I call the shop, he says 15-30 offset. Im confused. I dont want them to stick out or rub at all. The shop told me that I need to get the proper offset to prevent the rub or sticking out and every shop has a restocking fee so I want to be damn sure I get the right size the first time.

Please help.

I'm not sure of offset, but my 22x9.5 inch Eagle's have 6.7 inches of backspacing. My 305/45-22's are basically flush with the edge of the fender flares on my Expy.
