17" to 18" help

My first post! I have an 06 F-150 supercab 4x4. I added a Leveling kit. Id like to switch my 17" factory wheels to after market 18". They say I can fit 35's with my leveling kit, but Is that whith the 17" rims? I want to go with something like the moto 951 or the DE Cannon with toyo open country m/t's and I dont want any rubbing. I was planning on the 295/70/17, or 305, but if i go to an 18" wheel how much will this affect the tire size and how big can i go without rubbing ?

No, it's not the diameter of the wheel that affects fitment, it's the width and backspacing of the wheel. As a general rule, with a leveling kit, you can fit up to a 35x12.50 tire using the oem 17x7.5 or 18x7.5 inch wheels or a 33 inch tire with wider aftermarket wheels. I'd suggest using a 18x9 inch wheel with 5 to 6 inches of backspacing and a 33x12.50-18 or a 325/60-18 (33x13.00) tire. To use a 35x12.50-18 tire with an aftermarket wheel you are gonna have to find an 18x8 inch wheel with 5.5 inches of backspacing (same as the oem wheels).
