tire ?

Could someone tell me the difference between tread width and cross section width ? Thanks

The tread width is inches less than the cross width. Does cross width include the sidewall or something ? Wandell, wanna chime in ?

Right. Section width is the width from sidewall to sidewall.

Thanks Wandell. I wonder if the new M16's are skinny to look at then ? It says the 37x13.50 R20's have a SW of 13.5 but only 10.5 on the tread width. I wish there was a local place to look at them up close. Thanks for the reply though.
