Found an awesome truck at dealer, however has 20 inch chrome wheels. I prefer 17 or 18. Your thoughts on different sizes are appreciated. To me the 20's look too "pimped out"

Edited to Add: That's a 285/65/20 or a 34.7" tire.

 

i like a 17" or 18" size rim. I like the beefy tire on a lifted truck. Cant stand 20 +" IMO

 

IMO "pimped out" is more dependent on the style of rim.

I would look at the price of tires in comparison of 18 vs. 20 as that may help you make your decision.

When I was looking at trucks I preferred the 18" rims but I ended up getting a truck that had 20's and I really like them. (Although I am not going to like it when I buy my new tires!)

+1 on the 33"+ on 20's looking sweet.

 

way to little tire for me. Here's my general rule of thumb:

33 - 35: 16/17" wheels
36 - 37: 18" wheels
38+: 18 - 20" wheels

nothing bigger than 20's though. I'm all for big flashy wheels, you just gotta have the tire to back it up.

Then again that's what I run... So maybe I'm a lil one sided.

 

Each person like's something different, I have my stock 18's with the stock 32" tires, 1 set of 17's w/33" tires and 1 set of 17's w/35" tires. I like more sidewall's when going offroad. My nephew's all wanted me to put on 20 or 22 inch wheel's but when I priced the tires I said I'll stick with the 17's. The street's in South Louisiana are still bad after Katrina and you better have some good tires to avoid getting flat's. No sissy tires down here, 8 or 10ply minimum!

 

20s will take more brake to stop, other than that its a personel perference unless you off road a lot then the more side wall the better , I went with 17s but like the look of the 20s
