Wandell please bear with me......
If I were to run 18x9's with 4.53" BS, but only used a 285/65/18 would they still stick out more than stock?? (2006 xlt SCrew 4x2) Most of the wheels I like don't seem to offer much BS. There is one I like with 6" but it has 25 offset. What does the offset have to do with it? Does a pos offset just mean that it isn't a "deep dish" wheel? that the "spokes" or whatever are nearer to the outside edge of the wheel.
Thanks again. I really appreciate your help

A 9 inch wide wheel with 4.5 inches of bs will stick out 2.5 inches farther than the oem wheels. Offset is just a different way of measuring the same thing. The less bs, the deeper the wheel's lip will be.

I have 2 options on the same wheel.
1. 17x8.5 5.00 bs +6 offset
2. 17x8.5 5.375 bs +15 offset
Which is better? Truck has a leveling kit.
17x8.5 5.375 bs +15. WIll fit
Offsets tell how the bolt plate sits in comparison to the center of the wheel.
So with that said a good rule of thumb to keep in mind is the extreme end of things.
High offset means that the wheel is tucked under the car more. Such as a front wheel drive cars usually has high offset. 79+
The lower the opffset the further away from the car the wheel gets. such as a -12 for alot of the big LIFTED 4X4 TRUCKS.
I hope this kinda helps you.
