I have a 98 F150. I purchased the 01-03 FX4 rims because they are my absolute favorite. I'm thinking about powdercoating them black for a different look. My F150 is the extended cab, standard red color, and i'll be putting 295/70/17 Nitto terra grapplers on most likely.

has anybody every powdercoated their FX4 01-03 rims, and what do you guys think about the look? Red with powdercoated black rims. Just looking for opinions or any pictures anybody has.

I too like those wheels... if i didnt already have the chrome lariat 17's then i would have those fx4's. I am debating between nitto 295s or bfg 285s. I want toyo m/t 295/70/17 but I cant justify over a grand for a set of tires that I like but dont love.


I personally like the finish of the fx4 rims but im sure the powder coat will look good as well.

 

The mental pic looks good. Also, with those rims a red pinstripe on the raised ridges may also get the looks!

 

yea or maybe all black with red stripe along the outer rim lip, like where the weights get put on. I dont know like you said it looks good mentally, just dont know for sure
