wheel question

after searching for a while and still no answer, and wandell seems to be man when it comes to wheel sizes, i guess this question is directed to him. or anyone else that can help. i'm ordering some wheels this weekend. i have my mind made up on the diamo dl17 black w/machined. the question is...will i have problems with the size being 17x10, 5.03 backspacing, and -12mm offset. i'm going to be installing a 4.5" suspension lift also. the size tires i'm going with is 315/70/17(which is just over 34" tall and 12.5 wide). is this set up going to work? the offset is my main concern as i have no idea what the differences are. i understand the backspacing just not the offset. thanks for the help guys.

If you understand the backspacing then you can ignore the offset. it is just another more complicated way of showing the same thing. the backspacing is all you need to know. and if you understand the backspacing you should understand the wheels will stick out about 3 inches further than a stock rim. if that is ok with you, I doubt you will have any rubbing issues with that lift you have planned. before the lift I could see issues though.

I think you will be fine. That wheel will stick out 3 inches farther than the oem 17 and 18 inch wheels. Personally, I'd want something more like a 9 inch wide wheel with 5 inches of bs but you should be ok.

another question.....changed my mind on the rims. i'm stuck on the looks of the kmc xd diesel black. the problem is the bore size. from reading around i take it the '04+ trucks have an 87.1mm bore. the only xd's that i've found have a 94mm bore. will this be a problem? i've also read about the hub rings for these rims. where can i find some? thanks for the help again guys.

I have never heard of bore size being an issue. this is a new issue I never considered when ordering my rims. I would imagine as long as the bore is larger than the stock size it would fit fine as long as the bolt pattern is the same. I may be wrong on this one. wendell would know more than me.

I agree. I believe that just means the wheels will not be hubcentric. KMC should have hubcentric rings if you want them.

just found out this morning kmc doesn't make the diesel in 17" anymore. the guys at westkycustoms introduced me to the MM958 in black. i pulled the trigger and will be going with those.

i can't wait to get home and get the lift, wheels, and tires installed.
