305/65/18 on stock wheels?

Well I saw the picture of my truck posted here and figured I should at least respond. As far as look and ride go I could not be happier. I have no rubbing with the AS 2" but have not measured how close it somes to anything. I think this is about as big as anyone should really go with stock rims. Now to the weight issue. You should be fine hauling anything within the actual specified capacity of the truck. The rims are on the small side for these tires but do not foresee any problems. I dont think NTB or Discount would install them if it was a real issue........

So, is it possible to fit the 305/65-18's without any lift modifications or is that just a bad idea?

If you have a 4x4 and mount them on the OEM wheels they will fit, but there may be some minor rubbing without a leveling kit.

To stay in this thread, I do have a question about 285 v. 305, but not with the fit. I am concerned about a wider tire in winter weather (snow) and rain. Does anybody have any opinions about wider tires not performing as well in the snow or rain?

I've never had any problems with tires that width (~12" or so) and the snow in the UP is heavy and comes from Nov. - Apr. most years.

As a direct comparision in widths, I cannot tell any difference in the wet or dry weather performance between the 315/75-16 BFG AT KO's on my Screw now and the 285/75-16 BFG AT KO's that they replaced.

I hate to dig up an old thread but, I have researched just about every thread on here in regards to lifts and tires.

My question is this I am on the edge between Nitto TGs in 295/70/18 and the BFGs AT KO in 305/65/18. I have just ordered the AS 1.5 in leveling kit. I measured my truck yesterday and to me my truck would be a little nose high with the 2 in. and way to high with the 2.5 in. Would I have any issues with the 305/65/18 with just a 1.5 in kit?

I am leaing towards the BFGs but I had nittos on my tacoma and liked them. I am worried about the 295/70/18 with just a 1.5 in.

This forum is more than helpful, but I couldn't find an answer to my specific question. Any input would be greatly appreciated.

By the way I have a 2010 4x4 SCREW with 3.55 gears and 5.4L

I'm looking at same 2 sizes for my 08 4x4 with 2.5 level kit
What did you decide on ? How's the fit

Hello, I had a 08 150 Screw and had a 2.5 in level and the 305/65/18 bfg tires. They fit perfect with the lift, I think it would be to tight without it. I also still have the tires that im selling, they have around 1000 miles on them still brand new! I just got the 11 Screw with ecoboost. Pm me if you are interested in the tires.

... and are gears an issue with going to the 305/65/18 tires? I realize gas milage and performance may be effected slightly.

I have 305/65/18's on custom rims and a 2.5" spacer but I used to have them mounted on stock rims and 2" lift, no problems either way. Truck is a 2010 4wd.

I run an 2 inch AS level with 295/70/18 trail graps on my 2010 screw. IMHO the truck sits a tiny bit nose high still. I kind of wish I would have gone with the 1.5 inch level. I think it should work nicely for you, especially if you're willing to do some very minor trimming (you might not have to at all as my wheels have an offset that pushes them slightly further out). I get the tiniest bit of rubbing when reversing with the wheel cranked and the suspension compresses.....getting out the dremmel for a 10 minute job as soon as this damn snow melts and that will be a thing of the past.

I'm actually thinking of getting the Rancho quicklift shocks for my screw which are more like a 1.5 to 1.75 inch lift from what I understand, and I'm not worried about it at all with the 295/70/18's
