BFG AT's vs Nitto Terra Grapplers
Hi all,
I am looking at purchasing either the BFG AT's or the Nitto Terra Grapplers. I have had the BFG AT's before and loved them. I'm looking at sizes in the 33 x 12.5" range give or take and the BFG's(305/65r18) are $100 more per tire than the Nitto Terra Grappler(325/60r18). I have an F150 and don't really need the load range E of the BFG's. Do the Nitto's wear as well as the BFG AT's? I'm considering the Nitto's since you can't not look at them when they are $100 less in cost. thanks for your opinions! Gerry |
between these two tires its more of a personal preferrence! they both wear great.. i just bought my 285/70/16 BFG's at 4wheel parts and i spent 800... that was Friday... they have a special on BFG's for febuary.
i perferre BFG. but ive never drivin Nitto Terra Grapplers |
I too prefer the looks and performance of the BFG A/T's, but for the price the Terra Grapplers are hard to pass up.
The Terra Grapplers wear just as good as the BFG A/T's. |
Thanks for the information so far guys!

I had a 2003 F350 diesel but traded it in on the F150 Screw. I got married late last year and am planning ahead for kids. I do miss the diesel though. It had the 7.3 and I had it re-programmed, had 35's on it and dual 5" stacks. It was one sweet truck. Only problem I had with it was there was a lot of rust on the bottom of the doors for only being a 2003. I babied that thing and it was always clean. I do live in northeast OH and the winters w the salt really takes it toll thought.

As to what I have herd nitto terra grapplers only last about 20,000 miles. I know BFG all terain can last up to 60,000. BFG are a little noiser but I bought them knowing they where going to be. BFG do have awsome all weather traction, it is amazing to me how well they go in the rain. My truck had Goodyear RTS and they sucked at everything.

The Terra Grapplers will last a heck of a lot longer than 20,000 miles if you rotate them regularly. Reviews on Tirerack have people getting between 40 and 60 toousand miles on them.
I just bought a set for my F150 in 295/70/17 and love them so far. |
terra grappler
I have right at 40 thousand on my terra grapplers with about 10 thousand to go be for i start needing new ones. They have been the best tires i have ever had on any truck, even more expensive ones. will definately be putting them back on.

Im wondering how the nittos hold up in mud? I know its not a mud tire but it seems like the bf goodrich would do better. I may be wrong just asking cause I was thinking of the nitto for my next set.
|
Both great AT tires, but neither one is going to do really good in the mud. Well satisfied with my BFG's. Both tires should get at least 40k miles.
|
i have the nittos and love them. not so hot in the mud though
