HELP Broke stock rim

I own a 2006 F-150 with the chrome package including 18" alloy wheels : SYL-3559-S. I curb-checked a walkway today. I got out and there was a chunk of my rim missing. Is this a common problem with this wheel. What do I do call my insurance agency?

The weird thing is it still holds pressure even though it lost part of the rim edge.

Yeah i think i would see what the inmsurance does for you first. They should cover it since it is a lease. If they cant help then let me know and maybe we can do something for you.

Maybe we can get you one at cost or something.

Your deductible will be more than it would cost to buy another wheel yourself. I'd look for one off ebay to replace it.

I bet you can get a set of those with tires for $500. Since this is your fault, you pay deductible with insurance claim, so it isn't worth it to file a claim, pay deductible, and higher rates. Find one for sale either on here (classifieds) or ebay/craig's list. If you cannot find a single wheel, buy a set and sell the rest individually. for $100ea.

I'd just keep an eye on it, making sure its holding air etc... and watch craigslist for a set of stockers for cheap. A factory wheels would cost you an arm and a leg from a dealer. There are places that repair the wheels but it normally cost a pretty penny. good luck!

Wrong, take it off imediatly. Or asap. Spare tire and rim even tho its ugly is much safer then a broken rim
