Help with 04 heritage brake squeal!

My 04 heritage 2wd has been making squealing/squeaking noises when I apply the brakes. I recently replaced the front pads and the back wear indicators indicate that the rear pads are good. The truck stops fine, and does not pull to the left or right. It's just annoying to hear that noise every time I stop! How do I know if I need new rotors or if I need to have them turned? If anybody could help me out, I'd be so grateful!!!! The truck has 54000 on it and has never been in a wreck or driven hard. Thanks for the help.

What type of pad did you use? Ceramic or semi-metallic or ???? Did you put something like antisieze on the pads back where it meets the caliper and pistons, the top and bottom slider tabs as well as the 2 tabs that push against the anti-rattle clip on the caliper tops? Also, on the new sliders themselves, did you fold the little tabs so the sliders don't actually slide themselves? If you cut, replaced or left the rotors alone they should be ok. If all was installed correctly and visually checks out, give it some time, it may be something that just goes away.

I think it's fixed!

Thanks for the help! I'm sorry that it took this long to reply back. I double checked everything that you had said, and everything looked good. Then after about 200 miles, the brake squeal started to diminish. I can barely hear it now, and others can't hear it at all! I guess the cheap pads I bought just needed time!!! Thanks again for your help!

Cheap pads tend to dp that. Genuine Ford pads don't. You'll probably notice alot of brake dust all over your wheels soon. You get what you pay for. You'll never get the miles you got from the genuine pads. When you do the rears eventually, use a better grade pad on the rears, as they usually go faster than the fronts. That's they way the brake system is set up now. No more fronts wearing out first.
