Tire Pressure sensor monitor 04 Linc Navigator
Tire Pressure sensor monitor 04 Linc Navigator
I just bought a 2004 Lincoln Navigator 4x4 with stock 18" wheels and the tires have the TPSM tire pressure sensor monitor which light sup on the dash etc. I understand the sensors are somewhere behind the valve stem. I just bought 4 20" inch wheels Boss 330 made by American Racing. I wanted to know if I can just put the new wheels and tires on without switching the sensors. I want to leave the sensors on the old wheels and tires and just store them away. I don't know if running wheels and tires without sensors will give me a constant warning on the dash or is there some way I can disable the TPMS? Thanks

This truck has the sensor behind or built in to the valve stem, no strap. I have to check the manual and see if there is a way once the sensors are transfered to have them re-learn or does it have to go to the dealer and be put on a computer.
I know on GMs theres a method you can do to relearn the sensor postion (key on to run, hold unlock and lock till the horn beeps..e tc. etc. ).. I can't remeber what i do for ford right now, but any decent tire shop should be able to take care of it for you.
Wandell The only thing about the bolt in sensors is sometimes they aren't compatibile with the lip of the after market rim. it all depends on the design of the sensor and the rim design.
I do this stuff everyday
