295/70/17 Tire Options?

Tomorrow I'm ordering the 1.5" AS front level kit and I think this is the tire size I will be getting. It's either 295/70 or 305/70/17s, but I think the 305s would be cutting it a little close (anybody know?).

But what tires are available in 295/70/17? I definitely want an all-terrain tire since I don't go in mud. All I really seem to see out there are the Nitto Terra Grapplers. How are these tires? What kind of mileage can I expect to get out of them? I can get 4 for $728 from discount tire. Is this a good deal? I haven't started shopping around locally yet since I haven't decided on which tire to go with.
I need some help/opinions guys!

EDIT: I would also like to stick with a LT rated tire.

Question 305/70/17

tardman....
i just put on an NCD 2.5" leveling kit on my '06 screw, i have seen pics of an '04 with the same leveling kit and 305/70/17 but I don't know if his tires rubbed at all. I was told that 295's would fit no problem, and the 305's might fit, but may rub lock to lock. i am wondering the same question as you. if you find out, please let me know.

With the 2.5 kit you can clear 35s. I'm only going with 1.5 inches, so I'm stuck between deciding on a 295/70/17 or a 305/70/17.

I think Nitto has the 295x70 size only, this is a great tire at a good price. Look's great on a stock or leveled 4x4.

Will a 305/70/17 fit with just a 1.5" leveling kit? I think it might be a little tight. 295/70/17 would probably be a better choice, no?

With just a 1.5 level, I would stick to the 295 or 285 tire size in the 17 inch range.

with stock rims I think you would be fiine with up to a 305. I really don't think there would be any problems. if there was any you might have to trim a small bit off the valence.

Take a look at my gallery, I am also running 295/70/17 nitto terra grapplers. I love the way that they look, way more aggresive in person. They ride really smooth also. I thought that I saw a Toyo Mt in this size also. I just didnt have the $$$. I got my nittos for 712.00 from discount tire direct on ebay.

Looks great. Those fill out the wheel wells nicely even with the with the 2.5" AS and the 1.5" AAL. They should be perfect for my 1.5" AS. Thanks!

ANYBODY KNOW OF ANY OTHER MANUFACTURES THAT MAKE 295/70/17? That's the size I'm going with. Now to explore my options...

Toyo has a M/T tire in that size, but it's pricey (280) compared to the Nitto.
