rim width question

Are 8.5'' wide rims too thin for 13.50's? I wont be airing down for offroad. I think they would work. Dont care if it would look funnym just need to know if it could be done.

well... yes, it can be done. Like you said, may look a little funny, and wear a little bit weird but it "can" be done. Also gunna have to search around for a tire shop that will do it. Many are "by the book" and wont do anything out of the norm for liability reasons. So, what rim/tire combo you going to be running ?

Damn that's like a 345 on a 8.5''

I think I'd want at least a 10'' rim.

the 10" rim is definately preferable, but people on this site are running 12.50" wide tires on stock 7.5" rims . Not the "ideal" set-up but it works for them.

I ran 305s on the 16 inch rim. It is only 7" wide. I thought that it looked ok but I am old school. I like deep dish wheels with fat tires......

That is a little big, not sure if I would drive it. Although, the above post doesn't look bad at all.
