Brake lockup after sitting in rain
Hi, I have a 94 f150 that the rear brakes have recently started locking up after the truck sits through a snowstorm or rainy night. It only does it the first couple times the brakes are used. Why does this happen, and what can be done. The truck has been kept in great conditions and only has about 57000 miles.
Thanks,
Tom

Do they just feel grabby... like when you apply the brakes they stop quicker than you expect?
Or do they lock up when you don't have the brake pedal applied and you can't drive?
If its just that they feel "grabby" - the moisture will change the friction properties of your pads. Till the pads get warmed up by a couple stops, they will feel grabby. If you really don't like it, I'd get some new pads on your brakes (probably drum brakes in the rear, right?) The fact that it has just started doing this would seem to indicate that your pads are probably pretty worn and that is why they are behaving differently.
