Question tire pressure sensor

got a 5th fx4 wheel at cost and put my spare on it, can a 5th tire pressure sensor be programmed on my truck? I like doing my own tire rotation(have compressor, jack etc.) and I keep my spare in the rotation.

thanks

It is programmed by the dealer. Cost runs about $50.

thanks for the info, my dealer already mounted the new tires for me but never mentioned the spare, guess I'll get it done when I rotate in 5K. Will the spare with the sensor affect the malfunction indicator light?

thanks again

I just reread your question. I am not sure that a 5th sensor can be programmed in. You may have to reprogram every time you rotate tires. Also, check your spare carefully. Some are not meant to be used other than as an emergency tire. Also verify that it is the same load range as what you have on the other 4 wheels.

thanks Kfish, bought 5 BFG's, all the same size. I've always kept my spare in my rotation, tires last forever. If that little f'er(low tire lite) comes on I'll just cover it with a piece of black tape
