cost for Carquest Blue semi-metallic
local carquest shop was asking over $70 for (1) pair of front carquest blue semi-metallic brake pads
we have account and it drops price to $56
still thought they'd be a better value than that

You will get great pads for the price, trust me. You can shop around for comparable pads but really they all should be about the same prices. I would pay double for how well these things have done, not a single issue to date and I've used them since 2001 or 2002 maybe? I think you pay for the warranty a bit, but if needed it is nice to have.

Hell, I told a guy with a Lightning about these pads and I got the look like "ya, I'm not putting some regular pads on my truck" because they aren't a name brand. I thaught to myself fine, **** good money away and look at me like I don't know what I'm doing. There is probably 100 different pads out there, 90 are about the same, 10 are just crap or overpriced etc. I try and pass good info to those seeking it from experiences I've had.
Prices are prices, a bit more or a bit less, who cares if it works. Name brands bieng better to justify higher costs with exotic materials, ha
Saying Porterfield's are a more established brake manufacturer than Raybestos (Carquest blue semi-metallic producer) is a load of crap. Raybestos should be the glorified name brand and is not.
People often said Carquest online is cheaper, they're like 50 bucks max.

thought $70+ sounded kinda high - in the $50's sounds reasonable -
anyways... you guys have me all pumped up about these pads -
just finished installing them & carquest rotors on front - can't wait to bleed the lines and try these brakes out tomorrow
thnx
