Max psi mean max load of the tire, which is way over what you need for an F-150. I think most poeple with that load rating run 45-50psi for lightly loaded daily driving,

On a LR E with a max of 80 psi, 50 will handle anything that is within the limits of your vehicle. I ran BFG Ats LR E tires at 50 for over 40k with no problems.

My load "D" tires seem good at 38-40, so 45-50 should be good for "E" tires, even loaded a bit. The tires will tell you what is good if not worn even, but starting at 45 should be a good average. Hell, semi-trucks run around 100 psi in their tires, so nowhere near 80 psi is needed, probably 50 max. The higher load range means basically your tire is more capable, not that it needs more air for everyday driving.
