Larger Tires

where can I bring my truck to calibrate the computer for large tire size. I have a 2007 F-150, 5.4, 3:73 running on stock 235/75 R17. I'm looking to go maybe an inch taller to get a little bit more clearance for light duty off-roading. Since I use the truck for pulling a travel trailer I don't want to go to big to loose any towing capabilities. Any suggestions on tire size as well?

thanks,
Jim

I'd put on some 285x70x17 All Terrains, either BFG, Toyo or Nitto's. These are 33x11.5x17 tires with the 3.73 gears your truck will still pull hard. They will also fill up the wheelwells a little more than the puny stocker's! Most Ford dealers can re-calibrate the speedometer for taller tire diameter's. I have a set of Toyo AT's in the 285 size and they are great tires but caution a 8 or 10 ply tire will ride a little rougher than a P rated factory tire.

How about 245/75 r17? Like I mentioned my biggest concern is towing not really offroading but I'd still like to raise it 1 inch or so.

i went from the stock 235 to the dunlap radial rovers 265/75/R16's on my truck and it sat about 1/2" to about an 1" higher. only threw the speedo off 3 MPH so i can live with it
