Question What's the ideal wheel for 35" tires?

I'm looking for rims for the tires I'm getting, BFG AT KO LT325/65R18. What would the ideal size be for an aftermarket wheel to ensure no tire rubbing?

I'm kinda looking at:

Eagle Alloy Series 187 (18x9, +2offset, 5" BS)
http://www.aewheel.com/eagle_alloy_wheels.cfm?id=273

and

MB Razor (18x8.5, +25offset, not sure BS)
http://www.discounttiredirect.com/di...w=8.5&bp=6-135

Would these wheels be better (or worse) than the stock wheels, in terms of rubbing? Does anyone know what the BS is on the MB wheels?

Thanks.

8" with a 5 1/2" backspace or a 8 1/2" with a 6" backspace should be ideal. I had to use a 8" with 5 1/2" backspace not to rub.

They have 5.75" BS

Here's a chart to help you out:

Sorry, forgot to mention that. AS 2.5" up front, stock in rear. 4x4 too, by the way.

Thanks for the chart Copenhagen848, I'm new to aftermarket wheels and wasn't really sure if measurements were different from wheel to wheel or there were standardized dimensions.

Nope, there are a lot of different specs on the 04-08 wheels. You will have to get it perfect to fit 35's with aftermarket wheels with just a leveling kit. Follow PawPaw's advice. I think he is the only one here doing it. I usually suggest using 35's with the OEM wheels or 33's with aftermarket wheels as a general guide.

I'm running a 2.5" AS and 35"s on my truck with 20x9 rims with 6" BS, no rubbing at all but the tires have a 285 width instead of the 325.

Well, I take back my props to Copenhagen848 then.

How fast does the center of the tire tread wear, won't it be fairly bulged on the OEM wheel? Or is it not bad enough to have to put a lift on the truck?

I'm thinking it musn't be too bad, I've seen lots of people on here just using stock wheels.

lariat, I think it will be a little tougher to fit the 325x65's because they are a little wider than the 35x12.5 tires. I would guess a 8 1/2" wheel with a 6" backspace would be the best chance of getting them to fit. Either way it's going to be a tight squeeze!

BFG doesn't have the AT in 35x12.5x18, otherwise I would get it. I would get the 35x12.5 MT KM2's, but where I live there's lots of snow and ice in the winter and I don't think a mud tire would be the best choice.

Consider getting the BFG AT KO in 305/65-18 which is basically a 34x12.50 tire.

Huh?

The backspace info I gave you is correct on the MB Razors and the chart is accurate.

Yeah, that sounds like the best choice. So, would the best solution for wheels still be OEM? I'm trying to make it fit without any rubbing going down the road, I don't mind if it happens at full lock.
