06 F150 tires for tow

Hi all -
I currently have BFG 35-12.5-17 mud terrains. I tow a 27' Travel Trailer (6000#). I have quickly learned my current tires are not good for towing. I know the rule is go with "E" rated tires for towing. My current "D" rated tires have a 3000# rating on a mud terrain. Will I notice a big difference going to an E rated tired 33" All Terrain?

thank you all,
Don

No, and Es are really overkill on an F150. The biggest problem with your setup is size. You have a very large sidewall that is going to flex, no matter what load range.

Thanks, so going from 35" down to 33" will help. Probably should go back down to a 265-70-17 for best towing safety.....

Certainly would not hurt. That is a very large sidewall, basically a 9" sidewall with the 35s.
Also the larger the tire, the lower the towing capacity, unless you lower the gear ration. As far as stock ratings, just going from 31" tires to 32" lowers it by 500lbs.
