XD-Series Wheels by KMC

OK, so through some research I have discovered that Pro Comp is no longer manufacturing any wheels in a 5X135 bolt pattern and MM only has like two that I'm not real crazy about. Now the search for something else I like. I found the XD Series 795 Hoss I like.

My question is a generic one about this wheel brand...anyone got a set?? (of XD's, not particualrly the one I like) How's the chrome and finish holding up? Do they balance good? Etc, etc??

I have the KMC Monsters and love 'em. I only have about 12,000 miles on mine but so far they show no signs of deteriorating. I use some stuff that melts the brake dust off with a little scrubbing and they look new again. The Hoss look awesome although I've never seen them on a truck besides pictures. At least one person here has them and they look insane. They were my first choice but the wait was rediculous. My limited experience with them is very good to date. Weld was about the only other brand I considered.

I like several wheels that XD makes in 5x135 but the offset is goofy on all of them. In the 17x9 size I was looking at they were mostly 0 offset (5" backspacing). They are good looking wheels but that steered me away from them and towards the MM 956 I ended up with..

This wheel for the 5X135 has a choice of 4.5" or 5.7" backspacing. I guess the 4.5" backspacing puts the wheel further out from under the truck. The 5.7" would have the opposite effect and pull it back inside the fender. Did I do that right???

I may go pull a wheel off my truck and measure it before I buy anything though. I love the offset of my current wheels so I'd try to stay close to that.

Yes, you have that right, less backspacing pushes the wheel out farther. Are you looking at 16" or 17" wheels? According to your sig, you are currently running 16x10's. Most 16x10's in our bolt pattern run 4.5" backspacing (-25 offset). If the wheel you are looking at now is 9" wide with 4.5" backspacing (-12 offset) that wheel will tuck in one inch farther than your current setup.

Actually looking at a 20", or maybe an 18". 18" wheels are roughly $100+ ea cheaper than it's 20" counterpart!! Gonna run a 33X12.50. I went to check the backspacing/offset on my current wheel but can't find the specs on line anymore. Yes, I have 10" now and wanted to stay with a 10" and the same backspacing as my current wheels, but from the shopping I've done that's just not going to be an option.

I also understand what you are saying but...since my wheel is a 10 and the new one is a 9, if they had the same back spacing the new wheel wouldn't tuck up under the truck any further than my current wheel. It would be exaclty the same. You would simply loose that inch off the outside of the wheel.

Yes, you lose that inch off the outside of the wheel and it would therefore stick out an inch less. I guess technically it wouldn't be tucked in farther, it would just look like it since there is less wheel sticking out past the fender.

Several members at FTW have the KMC wheels and seem to love them. I have a couple of friends with them and they look great.

I've been looking for the exact same thing. XD Hoss' but everywhere that I have called/looked in Canada has them on back order for 4-6 weeks. I also tried a bunch of different online sites such as 4wheelparts.com and they are also backordered for 3-4 weeks. :S And i'm one of those people that when they want something, they want it now. So i'm trying to find something else lol, but its turning out to be just as frustrating. So if you manage to come across them and dont have to wait a month, pleaseeeee tell!
