Chrome or Polished

Ok guys, so I have my fabtech 7.5 lift sitting in my garage and i want to install it so bad... BUT i keep ordering wheels and they keep calling back saying they are discontinued. I have been looking for chrome wheels in my 5x 135 lug pattern and i just cant find any in stock. Do you guys think i should go ahead with some polished wheels instead, save about 250-300 bucks on it, and then install a si do exhaust system on my truck with the money i saved. What are the advantages/disadvantages of polished over chrome other than chrome is a lot more shinny. How shinny is polished?

Spend the money on chrome!! so much easier to keep clean, Having had both, chrome is my choice. don't settle on rims just because they are easier to get, get the set you really like. Took me 5 months to get my current rims and i did'nt go with polished or chrome, aways wanted color matched. you have to wait and pay to play.

Polished rims are harder to clean and dull faster, chrome as long as its good quality, tripled dipped, if taken care of properly will always have a mirror finish. To properly polish a rim can take as much as 30-40 min and will never look as good as chrome.

You have to stay on top of polished wheels to keep them looking good. They do have a distinct look that some people prefer, though. Almost like nickel versus chrome. Its a more subtle, less bling-tastic look. Having had both I prefer the chrome but I wouldn't be opposed to going with polished if I really liked the wheel. It is kind of hard to find a good-looking 5x135 wheel for sure. What size are you wanting to go with?

Agree with the general voive.

Polished rims take some work to get them to bling.... but when they do, they do look nice.

Chrome for me.

Ok so i guess if i try hard enough I could get the chrome rims, but here is what i'm wondering now. Should i go with chrome rims, or polished rims and get a dual exhaust system? What do you guys think? And how much does it cost to powdercoat your rims? Would the tire have to be removed to powdercoat?

Gahh so I don't know what to do. This is what I'm contemplating.

1. Go with chrome rims 17's
2. Go with polished rims 17's, take care of em, and buy a si do exhaust system
3. Or Buy polished rims 16's, Get the exhaust, and have even more left over to spend on the truck

What to do?
