Tire Size

Sorry about this guys but the searching is starting to hurt my brain...I have a 2001 2x4 F-150 and i don't want to buy a lvling kit but i do need some rims and tire. So i was looking at some 18's and found some good 285 tires to match it for a reasonable price. Will this fit in my wheel wells? I've been reading and some say yes some say no...the wheel offset is 15mm btw...

If they won't fit maybe point me in the direction of a lvling kit because i need rims and don't want really low profile tires haha.

What is the aspect ratio on the tires? What is the width and backspacing on the wheels?

Hey would really like to order this set-up tonight, will they fit if i crank the torsion bars up??
Is their a like how to on how to crank up the torsion bars too? I've only ever worked on quads...

Never mind not going to try and squeeze them in there...Where could i get some 17 inch rims for a 2001 all i find is for 04 and up or up to 96....

If your truck is 4x2 you don't have torsion bars, you have coil springs up front. an 8.5" wide wheel with 15mm offset is tucked up in the wheel wells pretty far, that works out to a little over 5" of backspacing. Ideally you would want a 9" wide wheel with around a -12 offset. A 285/60/18 is close to a 33" tire and your truck may need to be leveled out to fit those.

Thanks for the reply, think im going to go with the 165/70/17 Nitto Terra's and some PC'd black wheels that have a machined silver front should look sick, and is bigger than the 255's that fill up the front wheels pretty good right now.

Putting on my Dynomax duals sat too!! then getting an air intake if i have money after wheels..
