Wheel and Tire Package Deals

So, it's that time. The ol Rugged Trails have close to 50 grand on them, and they're needing to be replaced. I priced some factory tire sizes at a couple of places and I was amazed at how much tires for 18" wheels cost.

So, I got to looking around on the internet at some 17" wheel and tire packages. I've found for a couple of bucks more, I could have some wheels and tires, and then next time I might not have to pay so much. But... what do I choose??

I would LOVE to have some mud tires, but it's just not practical for what I do. So, an aggressive all terrain is gonna have to work for now... for now. I really like the BFGoodrich all terrain. The Dueler Revo's aren't bad either. Also, the Nitto Tera Grapplers are a favorite of mine.

I found this deal:

I am thinking about going with them, but I wanted to ask the community first, and see if maybe yall knew of something better.

P.S: What backspacing and all would I have to use, to get 17X9's to fit correctly?

We do wheel packages as well. Pick your wheel, pick your tire, and I will put it all together at no charge. Everything comes pre mounted and balanced and ready to install with all hardware.

Oh wow, thanks.

I probably go with Tire Rack, just because I have used the site before. Thanks for the reference though, I will check it out.

MBullard, I would go with the 285x70x17 BFG AT's or the 295x70x17 Nitto Terra Grapplers on the 17x9 Classic 2's with a 5" BS if they have them. These will stick out about 2 inches more than stock. If your truck is leveled either of these set ups would look great! Just my 2 cent's.

Oh yeah, the 285x70's are my choice. I already did the tire size calculator deal, and it says, with the 285x70's when the speedo says 60, I'll really be doing 62. I figure that's not a real bad power drop. I might notice it, but it's manageable. And I'm glad you say that it will stick out some. I was worried that 9" would not be wide enough. I like my wheels just a little wide, but not too wide.

What's the best leveling kit to go with this setup? I keep hearing Autospring, but I don't really want a 2" lift do I??? Do they have one that's only like a 1.3"?

The 285's would probably clear without a leveling kit, but to make the truck look good I would go with a 2" autospring kit. I have a set of 285 Toyo's that were on my truck with a leveling kit and they looked tiny in the wheelwells compared to the 315's on it now. Either way on a red truck your setup will look great!

Here ya go - even the same truck so you know what it looks like!

These are 295/70-17 Nitto Grapplers on 17X9 Helo Maxx 6 wheels with a 5.39 BS and a 3" front spacer. No rubbing, no problems, no bull. Some very minor trimming behind the front wheel on the inner liner.

Here's are some pix.
