33x12.50, 33x13.50?
33x12.50, 33x13.50?
I have a set of 17x9 Moto Metal wheels on my 02 FX4. Currently running a 285/70-17 that was on the OE 17x7.5 wheels. The 9" wheels don't stick out quite as far as I'd like. I really like the look of a 10" wheel witha 12.50" tire, so thats the look I'm going for. I'm looking at going with a 33x12.50 or maybe even a 33x13 or 33x13.50 if anyone makes one? Will this give me the look I'm after, and will a 13.50" tire fit under a stock height 4x4 with the T-bars cranked and trimmed valence? I guess the bottom line question is this: If I go with a tire that is 2" wider, how much farther will the tire stick out? 1"? .5"? Another inch would be great...
Spacers?
I believe you could put spacers on behind the rims that you currently have; if you don't want to buy knew ones. These spacers are normally used to add width to dual wheel trucks so they can fit larger tires, but it'll probably work for you too.
I just bought the wheels and don't want new ones. I knew when I bought them they wouldn't stick out as far as a 10" wheel, but I couldn't find a 10" wheel I liked. I think a wider set of tires will do nicely. If I can just find a 33x13.50 in an all-terrain, don't want to go to an extreme mud tire..
