Tire recommendations

I've got a bone stock 02 F-150 scab 4x2. Somehow the tires have lasted through 6 years and 55k of hard on road driving but now they're toasted, especially since my front end has been messed up (idler arm, tie rods, usual wear stuff). I'm getting the front end fixed so I figure now is probably a good time to do tires too.

What replacement tires work well? I'd like something with a bit stiffer sidewall than the tires that came with it, I had an older F-150 with Generals that handled good but they don't sell General tires around here anymore (nearby plant recently closed). What are my alternatives for a good quality tire that handles good on road?

I agree. But really, those oem Generals were not a great tire. You should see an improvement with new rubber. I'd also suggest looking at the Toyo AT's and Bridgestone Dueler AT's.

My favorite are Bridgestone A/T Revo's. Great wear (50k warranty), quiet, hydroplane resistance is excellent, too.

The Pirelli Scorpion ATR is a great one as well. Presently rated our number one AT tire:

Damon,

Those look like good on/off road tires. I'm usually driving fast on asphalt hauling medium/light loads, rarely with a trailer attached. What do you recommend for good asphalt turning/braking performance?

Thanks!
