Tire Recommendations

Looking to replace the tires on my stock '05 Lariat SuperCab, 4x2, bought it with BFG Radial Long Trail T/A's (265/60/18). Have heard good things about the Michelin Cross Terrain, but they're very pricey. On my prior trucks I've always run the Michelin LTS M/S, but they don't offer it in an 18" size, bummer. Any and all suggestions would be welcomed.

What about the regular BFG A/T. Great tire and long tread life. If not try the nitto t/g.

I agree with 05supercrew, they are great tires and have long tread life.

If your looking to stay with Michelin they just released a new AT tire. According to the Michelin website it's supposed to outperform the Bridgestone Revo and Goodyear Silent Armor, the only bad thing is it's a brand new tire so their isn't that many user reviews out there.

I can't wait to get rid of my BFG AT's, but am too cheap to do so until the treadwears down more. If you are used to Michilen LTX M/S, they will pale in comparison on wet and snow. Sine you have a 2wd, you probably don't care about off-road performance. A good highway tire will outperforma a good A/T tire. Give your tire size, though, I'd look at the Firestone Destination A/T. Cheap, good ratings and feedback.

If you're looking for more of a highway all-season tread for 18" wheels you might want to seriously consider Bridgestone Alenza's in 285/60/18.

I've run that combination on a 2006 F150 4x2 and was very happy with it. It is 31.5" tall, has a sectional width of 11.4" and a tread width of 9.1". It's quite a bit wider than what you have and a bit taller. It looks and performs exceptionally well.

It's rated #3 in it's category out of sixty different tires on www.tirerack.com
