Tire / wheels suggestions

i recently purchased an 04 supercrew fx4 with the stock 18" wheels. Now the tires are about shot and I would like to purchase some new tires and maybe wheels. I have thought about putting a larger "pro comp" all terrain tire on it with the stock wheels, but unsure on how large of a tire i can actually fit without rubbing issues.

other option I'm thinking about is going with 18x10 mazzi hulk w/ 285/60/18 tires
but again im not sure how it will look and perform..

I will not be going off-roading, i have thought about the leveling kit, but again i am unsure what all is needed to complete this.

open to other suggestions as well, any help would be great

I would suggest installing a 2.5 or 2 inch Autospring leveling kit and a set of 325/60-18 (33x13.00) tires on a set of 18x9 inch wheels with 5 to 6 inches of backspacing. I think this is the best looking combo on a stock 04-08 4x4.

The OEM 17 and 18 inch wheels are 7.5 inches wide with 5.5 inches of backspacing. I believe the Mazzi's have 4.5 inches of backspacing which means they will stick out 3.5 inches farther than the oem wheels.

This is the setup I have, and I love it! I took alot of advice from Wandell, and I got the exact setup I was looking for. Check my gallery for some pics....(click the little camera to the upper right of my post)

i had hulks on my last truck
wash my truck at least once a week chrome was pitting from the brake dust and one of them they had to be replaced because water got behind the chrome
like a bubble you could move it around with your finger
all of this with in 2 months
I would strongly advise to rethink that choice

but maybe i just got a bad set
there are other guys on here with those wheels so if i am wrong please chime in

I believe Ultra makes a copy of the Mazzi Hulk. Maybe it has better backspacing. American Eagle also makes a copy, but it has the same width and BS as the Hulk.

I have a 2006 f150 screw 4x4 with the 18 inch wheels tire size 275x65x18 tires, would I be able to use the 33x13.00 nitto terra grapplers without a lift or could I get by with just a 2 inch leveling kit?

Would those tires fit on the 18inch 2006 stock rims?

Jim
