13.50 Tire Question

I stopped in to a local 4 wheel parts shop today to talk to them about new tires and wheels. I am looking to go to 35in tires on 20in wheels on my 2006 F150 Screw. The guy at the store said with the wider the tire, the more shake I will get due to the sensativity of the rack and pinion steering. He advised me to go with nothing more than a 12.50in tire and try to stay around a 9in wide wheel. Does anyone have any insight on this or have had problems with running a 13.50 tire? I really like the Mickey Thompson Baja ATZ and they don't come in 12.50.

Thanks.

To a certain extent, there is some truth to that. But I don't think there would be a problem with 13.50 inch wide tires.

hey, i got xtreme a/ts in 35x13.50. I have a little shake occasionally, usually in the morning when its cooler. When i say a little, its barely noticeable. I wouldnt let that come in between you and 13 inch tires, they look sick. I wouldnt go any smaller!

I just went to the Mickey Thompson website and noticed they are now making a 35/12.50 ATZ for both 20in and 18in wheels. But the problem is that I cannot find a price anywhere. I will have to call around for some prices.
