New Wheels, and the long story behind them *pics*
This is the fifth (yes, 5th) set of wheels to be on my truck. It must have had the aluminum FX4 wheels on it when it was new, as it is an FX4. Whoever traded it in must have kept those, as it had the 97-98 salad shooter style aluminum wheels when I first saw it. I made the dealer steal some of the chrome steel Lariat wheels off another truck before I would buy it- I just hate those slotted grey wheels. So I rolled the OE chrome steel Lariats for a while, almost two years. Somewhere along the line I put on some 285 BFG All-Terrains that no doubt made those wheels look better. So for those counting, we're up to three now. Last monthy I finally decided to get a new set of wheels. I went with Pro Comp 1059 series (Stonecrusher knockoff) in polished. I got them mounted up and thought they were OK, but wished I hadn't spent all that money on them just to be OK with them. I then went back to 4Wheel Parts where I bought the wheels, and they agreed to give me 100% credit on them towards a new set of wheels. This time I went with what I really wanted, but thought were too expensive the first time. If you're going to spend money on something you dont need in the first place, you might as well spend a little bit more to be totally satisfied with them, right? I think so. So I now have the Moto Metal 956's on, and here are the pictures, for those interested. I also just took off the OE chrome step bars, which make the truck look a good 3" taller. First pic is with the chrome Lariats and BFGs, the next one is with the Proc Comp's, and the rest are as of today. Thanks for looking!!
