lift necessary?

i am currently running on 285 70 17 nitto tg's with a 2.5 ready-lift levelling kit. what i want to do is move up to a 35 x 12.5 tire on moto metal 955's- 9inch. but the guy at the truck shop is telling me that i need to get a suspension lift to support the bigger tires/rims. i would love a susp. lift, but thats not in the immediate financial future for me. so what, if any, additions should i make in order to support the tires/rims. i wouldnt think anything, except maybe shocks, but is that even really necessary?

You could go with a 3'' body lift, that would get you the height you would need and would save you some money.....or for now you could just keep your stock rims and then updgrade to the rims when you have the money for the lift.....

You didn't say what kind of truck you have, but odds are 35's won't fit with aftermarket wheels and a leveling kit.

No, the wheel would have to be almost identical to the oem wheel (7.5 inches wide with 5.5 inches of backspacing). You could fit 33's using those MM wheels however.
