tire psi and mpg

tire psi and mpg

hi i have bfg at tires. they are 275/70/16. what tire pressure will give my the best mpg with out hurting my tires as far as tread ware and rick of a blowout? i have a 2001 f150 extcab 4x4

If I read the chart right at BFG's site, those are a load range D tire with a max PSI of 65. I would run them at 45 on an F150. Higher and you will probablt get too much wear in the center tread. Lower and you will get lower milage and too low a much better chance of a blowout.

should i put more in the front because weight on them?

You do not have to. On my trucks, Ford recommended the same pressure all the way around. If you do decide to go less on the rear, I would not go lower than 40-42 and any time you carry a load you would want to bump it up to 45.
